WDD Challenge: Photomontage

While searching for inspirations among my RSS feeds in Google Reader, I noticed that Webdesigner Depot had launched a photo montage challenge for the weekend, with the deadline set on Monday, 20/04/2009.

It was an interesting concept. The idea was to take the given 3 online images and make a montage (615px wide x 400px high at 72dpi resolution) out of it. You are free to use any brushes or filters to process the images, or add some elements of another image, but all of the 3 given images must be used.

The materials given:
Images given were from Stock.Xchng, an online stock photography website. Its really a nice place for resource. Most images are free for use with certain restrictions on distribution and sale.

As I am still in camp (and its the weekend!!), I don’t have access to any image editing programs. Thank goodness for GIMP Portable. If not I had to wait till one of the weekdays when I got home… by then it would have been too late.

Anyway, here’s my creation..

It’s titled:

A horse’s mystical dream.

I was hard-pressed for ideas at first, but I decided to just take one of the materials as base image and go from there. I think the montage turned out quite well… What do you think of it?

For now, I am extremely excited to see how others have used the same 3 images..
