Blogging seemed to be an easy job at first. However, when you sit in front of the computer wanting to blog something, the mind, like giving a speech in front of millions of people, go blank at times.

Writing a post have transcended from blabbing incoherent words to a full essay / mini-essay. Question like “how do I phrase this” or  “does this post have any grammatical/spelling errors” often jumps into your consciousness. However, it wasn’t always like this…

When I first started out in 2004, I didn’t care much. Coherency, grammar and  spelling wasn’t my top priority. I wasn’t hesitant to use chat languages or even shortcuts, words like “because” got shortened and became “cos”…
As I went on (and as friends started reading), I started to become more aware of my words… Furthermore, upon seeing that what you post may offend people, I started thinking more before I post, often reviewing them a few times before posting, and cutting back on some cut-throat criticisms that I may have. I value my friends too much to risk losing them over an impulsive post. Maybe I still fumble on the grammar part, sometimes knowingly, but overall, it was much better.

As time goes on, due to the many reservations, I began to have the problem of  “how to post” and “what to post”.

I started moving away from too personal posts, but some of my friends were a little puzzled and asked about that. I toyed with the idea of going fully personal or technical, but they both seemed somewhat limiting on their own. So I guess its going to be a little of both for now.

Last year, I began to wonder “how frequent should I post” when I had started drawing about 1000 or so hits per month on my old Wordpress.com blog, most of which are unique. This was something which I didn’t see before. I was happy with just 2 or 3 visitors a day when I was at Blogger.com. I know the numbers may be small compared to some top tier bloggers… However, I didn’t expect much then. After that. I began to wonder how to draw more people to my blog…

As I move here from my Wordpress.com blog,  I have to start from scratch again, seeing that most of my visitors came from search engine queries.

Hopefully, with the New Year, I will be able to answer these few questions of my own and become more successful with this website.
