This news, pointing towards the direction of Google having a web drive is a big welcome for most people / everyone. A web drive by Google is definitely on the wish list of many people. The only question now is whether the web drive will be free for use or become a paid service. For now, Google already offer paid space upgrades for use with Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, and other services, with 10Gb going for $20 USD a year.

Whether the GDrive will integrate into other Google services is also a question yet to be answered. Maybe in the future, you can manage your emails, Google Docs, Picasa albums all from the GDrive’s interface. For now, according to Google Operating System Blog,

Google Docs will be the web interface for GDrive, while a Windows/Mac client will integrate the service with the operating system and make it easy to synchronize files.

At this juncture, all we can do is speculate….
