Alternative for disappointed Google Notebook users
January 24, 2009By now, users of Google Notebook will have gotten the news that Google is shutting developement of Google Notebook and several other services like Google Video, Catalog Search, Dodgeball and Jaiku.
As with all shutdowns, some people will be unhappy, some will be indifferent, others may see this as an opportunity.
Taking this opportunity are services which have products similar to Google Notebook. Among those services are Evernote, Ubernote and Zoho. Although they aren’t the only notebook applications out there, they are currently the few services which provide an import tool from Google Notebook.
Though this should be good news for users, expect an initial cling onto Google Notebook as we naturally don’t want to go through the trouble of migrating. For now, people are still hoping to save the notebook via a petition.
For me, I don’t seem to see any ray of hope for Google Notebook…. My only hope is that Google Reader will survive any future services cuts.
